On Saturday morning at 8am 10 members of the Abracs team set off on a challenge that would take them around the Lake District for a total of 100km. The route was a 100km anticlockwise loop split across 2 days. Starting in Kendal the first 11km was fairly straight forward, country roads and fields with relatively low elevation and after a couple of hours we were soon at rest stop one. Little did we know what was to come.

Daniel Lloyd marked his return to endurance racing with a remarkable debut in the Creventic 12 hour race at Monza over the weekend, claiming pole position, a third-place podium, and fastest lap honours at the iconic Italian circuit (July 10-11).

On a sweltering bank holiday Monday it was operation Soapbox for Abracs. In change of getting our car to the bottom was non other than Dan Lloyd TCR UK Champion! With up to 40 teams competing to be crowned The York Bid, Micklegate Soapbox Champions 2019 it was sure to be an exciting day!

Over two days, seven of the team will be running, cycling and kayaking the 105 mile route from Nairn in Northern Scotland, past the historic Cawdor Castle, the legendary Loch Ness, the mountainous Glen Nevis and to the Isle of Glen Coe. The unforgiving Highland terrain and weather ensures this will be our toughest challenge yet, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
